The clinic is conveniently located in Mount Gravatt on Brisbane's southside, with easy access from the inner suburbs, Logan corridor, and via the M1.
Parking: On-site parking is available at the clinic on church grounds, access via Mountain Street.
Public Transport: The clinic is accessible by bus, via Logan Road Upper Mt Gravatt.

Fees and Payment
Initial Consultation (60 minutes): $160
A comprehensive assessment including case history, physical examination, and development of a care plan.
Follow-up Consultations (45 minutes): $145
Ongoing sessions to monitor progress and adjust treatment approaches as needed.
Extended Consultations:
Available when clinically appropriate for complex cases.

Medicare Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Rebates
Patients referred by their GP under a Medicare Chronic Disease Management plan are eligible for rebates of $61.80 per consultation, for up to five sessions per year.
To access Medicare rebates, you will need:
- A current GP Management Plan (GPMP)
- A Team Care Arrangement (TCA)
- A valid referral from your GP
Progress reports are provided to referring GPs to ensure coordinated care.
Private Health Insurance
Private health insurance rebates may be available depending on your level of cover. Check with your health fund regarding osteopathy benefits before your appointment.
All necessary documentation for health fund claims will be provided.

Payment Options
Eftpos and instant Private Health Insurance claiming are available, alongside access to Medicare rebates refunded back with a valid savings card provided on the day. Payment will be required at the time of treatment.
Payment plans for multiple sessions can be arranged. Please discuss this at your initial consultation if cost is a concern.

Before Your First Visit
Please bring the following to your initial consultation:
- Any recent imaging results (X-rays, CT scans, MRI reports)
- Relevant specialist or medical reports
- Current medication list
- GP referral letter (if applicable)
- Medicare card (if claiming CDM rebate)
- Private health insurance card (if applicable)
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows for movement and easy access to the area of concern.
Cancellation Policy
A minimum of 24 hours notice is required for cancellations or changes to appointments. This allows the appointment time to be offered to other patients.
Late cancellations or missed appointments may incur a fee.
If you need to reschedule due to a pain flare-up or unexpected circumstances, please contact the clinic as soon as possible.
Late Arrivals
If you are running late, please phone to let the clinic know. Depending on the delay and subsequent bookings, it may be necessary to shorten the appointment or reschedule for another time.

Do I need a referral to see an osteopath?
No referral is required to book an appointment. However, a GP referral under a Medicare Chronic Disease Management plan is necessary if you wish to access Medicare rebates.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions varies depending on individual circumstances and the nature of the condition. An indication will be provided following the initial assessment.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Wear comfortable clothing that allows for ease of movement. Athletic wear or loose-fitting clothes are suitable. You are welcome to remain dressed during treatment, with minimal adjustment of clothing if access to specific areas is required, or a gown might be offered if required.
Can I bring a support person?
Yes, you are welcome to bring a family member or friend to your appointment if this makes you more comfortable.
What if my pain worsens between appointments?
Contact the clinic if you experience a significant flare-up between scheduled appointments. Earlier appointments may be available depending on clinic schedule.
Do you bulk bill?
No. Standard consultation fees apply. Medicare CDM rebates of $61.80 per session are available with a valid GP referral (up to five sessions per year).
What is your cancellation policy?
Twenty-four hours notice is required for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations may incur a fee.
Are you registered with AHPRA?
Yes. Dr Barbara Bugeja (Osteopath) is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and is a member of Osteopathy Australia, with ongoing professional development in pain management and evidence-based practice.
What if I’ve tried other treatments without success?
Each person’s experience with chronic pain is different. The approach used focuses on understanding individual pain patterns, providing education based on current pain science, and developing practical management strategies. A realistic discussion about what can be achieved will occur during the initial consultation.
Do you work with other healthcare providers?
Yes. Collaborative care with GPs, physiotherapists, psychologists, exercise physiologists, and other health professionals is an important part of managing persistent pain conditions. Communication with your existing healthcare team can be arranged with your consent.
